The first-ever PEF World Congress, held on October 30-31, 2024, gathered industry leaders, researchers, and innovators from around the world to explore the exciting future of Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF)—a 100% plant-based, recyclable polyester set to revolutionize sustainable packaging. Hosted in Düsseldorf, Germany, with a hybrid format, the conference brought together participants from 18 countries, including Central Europe, Scandinavia, North and South America, South Korea, and Japan, providing a global platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The REBIOLUTION project was well represented at the congress by our partners BASF and AVANTIUM, who set up an engaging booth to showcase the project’s vision and contributions to PEF technology. With a focus on pushing boundaries in plant-based packaging, REBIOLUTION’s presence highlighted our commitment to eco-friendly, circular solutions in packaging materials.
The congress was also a fantastic networking opportunity. BASF and AVANTIUM represented REBIOLUTION by engaging in productive exchanges with other industry players, forging new connections, and exploring collaborations to accelerate the adoption of PEF. Their presence at the booth allowed them to share insights, showcase REBIOLUTION’s achievements, and discuss the potential for scaling up PEF applications.
